Instalation in a Quad-Core Server

I want to install SQL Server 2000 Standart or Enterprice Edition in a Server
with two Intel Quad Core processor. SQL server Standart support Quad Core
processors?Yes, you have to make sure during installation to select the licensing
option for 4 processors.

Anith|||Even if it's a Quad Core processor, it's only one physical processor, so you
just will have to buy only one Processor License for your SQL Server
environment. It does not matter how many cores the chip has on it. The
important thing is phsycally processor itself and it's physically count. If
it's only one chip, then it's only one processor and it requires only one
Processor License.
However, I highly recommend you to contact a local authorized software
vendor.

for processor licensing.
