Install Issue - "IIS is either not installed or not configured for a server component inst

I'm getting this error:
"IIS is either not installed or not configured for a server component
installation"
when attempting to install Reporting Services on W2K Server SP4
Configuration details:
Windows Server 2000 5.00.2195 SP4
IIS is installed (Control Panel Add/Remove components confirms this)
Default web site is present
Default server IWAM account is active
Default web site IP is mapped to (All Unassigned)
The web server is functional, as it is hosting another .Net web application
already.
I can't seem to find any useful info on this error on the web.
Any suggestions appreciatedFYI in case anyone else encounters this problem:
Something in the configuration of the existing default web site (don't know
specifically what) was preventing setup from recognizing the IIS install.
To work around this problem I disabled the existing default web site, and
created a new one with all the defaults set.

Install Error - Operating System Service Pack Level (SP1)

I am attempting to install SQL Server 2005 Developer Edition (from CD) on my IBM PC with XP Operating System. During set up, I get a error message (see below) telling me about a Service Pack requirement. When I click on the link provided in the error message, it does not lead to any service pack download.

I'm trying to read thru these forum posts, it seems that there is a service pack that I need to download after installing SQL Server 2005. But how can I install the pack after when I can't install SQL Server. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Below is more information about the version of windows my PC has.

My PC: Windows Version 5.1 (Build 2600.xpsp2.030422-1633:Service Pack 1)

Error message from install program:

Operating System Service Pack Level Requirement. (Error)

Operating System Service Pack Level Requirement.

"The current operating system does not meet Service Pack level requirements for this SQL Server release. Install the most recent Service Pack from the Microsoft download center at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=50380, and then run SQL Server Setup again."

SQL Server 2005 Developer Edition needs SP2 on operating sytesm Windows XP. Please update your operating sytem and then install SQL Server 2005 again. Please see the BOL (Books On Line) for detailed inforamtion.

controller. At the end of the installation, a message appears saying that
we need to activate the service manually. However, using the rsconfig
utility returns this message:
Failure starting the web service:
The Report Server Web service has not generated a public key. The service
may not have started successfully. Check the log files for more
information.
The logs don't appear to contain any clues. If I attempt to connect to
http://machine/Reports or http://machine/ReportServer then the following
message appears:
Cannot execute a program. The command being executed was
"c:\winnt\microsoft.net\framework\v1.1.4322\csc.exe" /noconfig
@."c:\winnt\microsoft.net\framework\v1.1.4322\Temporary ASP.NET
Files\reportserver\94eb9a55\49df36c9\jgljplnh.cmdline".
Does anyone have any suggestions?

few minutes. Perhaps the service is continuously attempting to start up and
failing? The log files don't seem to indicate any error though. Here is a

Inserting Symbols into Fields (like ?)

I am attempting to insert a trademark symbol? into a database field but it is not working. Does anyone have any ideas on how to do this properly?

Any help would be very appreciated.

Since the Symbol ? is Ascii charater it should insert on Both Varchar & Nvarchar fields properly. The equalent to the symbol ? is char(153)
