Im trying to install SQL 2000 personal edition on my XP pro machine, but during installation I get an error _INS5576._MP.exe and the installation stops.
I would appreciate any advice the you could offer me.May check this link http://support.ca.com/Download/patches/ilitnt/QO35661.html for reference about INS5576._MP.exe file.|||I have checked the link to the CA - website but this information is not longer available.
Please advise where to look now.

ENsure latest service pack is applied to the OS.

Install error Security Patch MS03-031
When I try to install Security Patch MS03-031 or the
alternative SQL2000-KB826161-8.00.0819-ENU.exe I get the
following error
"PackageForTheWeb Error Corrupt cabinet file!"
This happens if I run the file from the net or if I save
it and run it from a local directory.
What am I missing?

Check if you have the following registry key..
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session
Manager\PendingFileRenameOperations
If its there, then delete the 'PendingFileRenameOperations' key or better
rename it , reboot and then try with the patch install.

Installation
Hi,
I ama trying to install SQL Server Express 2005, when the setup.exe does an anlysis of the machine configuration it tellme that out of 10 checks one has failed, and that the machine needs tobe rebooted in order to fulfill a requirment from a previous installation, I did this and went to start the installation process again only ot be told that this check failure still exists, unfortunately I cannot progress, has anybody experienced this, I am using Windows XP Hone, with ASP.NET 2.0 installed and Web Dev Express 2005 Beta 2

I am sorry about the experience but since you have installed the Visual Web developer try this link and download the evaluation edition of SQL Server 2000 and yes if you choose the personnal edition during installation you can install it on WinXP home. Hope this helps.
